Invoices and receipts arrive throughout the month, often from several jobs at once. A consistent close turns those inputs into reconciled business accounts and supported job-level detail.
Bring the records into one routine
We agree on the entities, accounts, active jobs and period covered. Your team supplies the approved project context; the bookkeeping work connects it to the underlying transactions.
- Reconcile bank and credit-card accounts.
- Review transaction coding against current job references.
- Maintain payable and receivable schedules within the engagement.
- Prepare management-use reports and an open-item list.
Keep record preparation and approval separate
A prepared bill is not an approved payment. Your designated reviewers retain payment authority, and unresolved job allocations remain questions until supporting information arrives. Our invoice approval map shows how those handoffs can be documented.
A useful month-end review
Review the account balances and the records behind material job questions. The package should identify what is complete and what depends on your team's response. A short weekly bookkeeping agenda can keep routine follow-up from building up at month-end.
Reporting scope and timing depend on the agreed document routine. Older periods that need reconstruction are assessed separately as cleanup work.
